Interim Housing

Interim housing is a temporary housing option that often serves as a first step for individuals transitioning from street homelessness to permanent housing. While staying in interim housing isn’t required before entering permanent housing, it provides an opportunity for clients to stabilize their own physical and mental health, while preparing them to successfully enter and retain their own housing.

Our interim housing sites aim to be as low-barrier as possible; residents are allowed to bring pets and we never place sobriety or work requirements on residents.

The People Concern operates or provides services at 14 interim housing sites across Los Angeles County, offering a mix of congregate housing (private cubicles with shared communal spaces) and non-congregate sites (motel-style room with a bathroom).
